MUTATIONE
The Game:
Mutatione is a 2D platform adventure / Swamp Opera with a strong focus on exploration, unique characters and personal relationships. The player controls Kay, who strands in a strange isolated world inhabited by friendly mutants and dangerous creatures. Evidently this world grew out of the ruins of a lost civilization, which appears to be our own.
The gameplay is reminiscent of games like the classic Prince of Persia, Flashback and Another World, but has a stronger focus on adventure elements and story. It’s important to us that the game be non-violent.
Mutatione is in prototype state thanks to development support from the Danish Film Institute. Right now its development is on pause while we work on other projects. We hope to get additional support next year to make proper demo of the game. There’s still a long way to go with the project, but we’re confident that we’ll get it done at some point. Until then, we all have to be patient and settle for looking at the prototype screenshots and concept art.
By the way, you might be confused given that the main character in the pictures is sometimes a male but most of the time a female; we want the player to be able to choose the character’s gender at the beginning of the game.
